Bobcat Sighting…again!

Bobcat Sighting

She’s beautiful, alert, clever, and back!

She moves like a shadow through the brown gray late Fall forest, blending in seamlessly. When she stops, she’s invisible. She has an intense gaze, excellent hearing, and supreme smell, as she scouts our ‘backyard’ woods to sustain herself for the day. The woods are silent except for her powerful presence.

We feel honored to even see one of these beautiful magnificent creatures, much less have her pose for us, and go about her business as if we weren’t even there. This is amazing stuff for people from Chicago, who must find a forest preserve to see some deer, if they’re lucky.

Bobcats are elusive, secretive introverts, who move silently through woodlands. Connecticut guidebooks say you’ll probably never see one, although they are here. Belonging to the Genus Lynx, they have the coloring, tufts, and markings of Lynx, but are smaller, more husky, and more prevalent in the States while Lynx is typically found in Canada. She is a part of my reality here, and I’m in awe! Gallery wrap around archival prints are available in the original size of 9″x12″, here: http://www.patgullettdesigns.com/power-animal-prints/new-work/20868702
