Path of the 3 Ravens

Path of the 3 Ravens

PathOf3RavensTEXTBestThey are right outside my window as I write this.

The Three are sometimes 3 wise Ravenwomen in a dream, more often a family of 3 actual ravens with their new baby, and lately, a pack of 3 babies, learning the ways of life in the woods. The babies are great. Their call sounds like a baby saying ‘Ma’. As soon as I go outside, one is always calling to the other two, in anticipation of ‘something’ I may leave out for them. For lack of extra rolls, chicken carcass, or cupcake, they love dog biscuits, which are really good for them, too!

Years ago, when I first moved to Ct., I participated in a group that worked with energy. We’d see if we could help people with their challenges in life. But at the end of one session, a very psychic yet really down to earth woman, (yes, there is such a thing!) looked at me across the circle and said an elder Ravenwoman told her that I was to continue the work of finding the missing tail feathers for The Raven, so that it can be complete. Elder was passing the torch to me. Hmmmm. Very cryptic!

Before moving here back in 2000, my husband and I both had dreams of 3 Ravenwoman, doing some ritual in our backyard in LaGrange. They were whispering something to me, but I could never make it out. We call these Big Dreams since they are so clear, so detailed, happening in our yard, and every part remembered when we woke up. I see them as all good.

Ravens guard the Tower of London for the protection of the monarchy, stole fire from the Sun to bring warmth to humans, and were messengers to the Norse god Odin, who saw them as Thought and Memory. I had to do this painting of the Big Three, symbols of a path I seem to be on for many years, now. I keep staying open to the secrets they may have for me, looking for them as a good luck sign, and being aware of their protection of the neighborhood as they lead my eye to the hidden fox, the huge hawk, or the sleepy bobcat emerging from the brush. They see it all!
