The Land Holds a Memory of All the Energies that have Come Before.

Emotionally charged gatherings, whenever people have come together to remember, chant, light fires, dance, sing, and tell their stories of life, love, and death, leave their mark on the Earth Mother. The Earth remembers and these sites become Sacred Ground.

Our histories, our ancestors, our stories are intertwined across the land. Sacred wells, standing stones, oak forests, eternal flames have been passed down to us for 5,000 years, ever since the Celtic Age. The sources of wells and springs are especially powerful places of healing, blessings, and prayers answered. Originating in the Otherworld, flowing waters are the lifeblood of the Goddess, the Mother Creator of everything, including us. The ancients believed drinking or bathing in these streams brought inspiration, wisdom, and healing of mind, body, and spirit. Omens were given in the form of images, fish, or spiritual creatures in the depths of wells. They contained the light that illumines, insight, and prophecies from the supernatural. Gatherings brought turning points in the Celtic Year, when the veil between the humans and the gods thinned, bringing life changing results.

The reflective pool, standing stone, and trees still draw pilgrims in prescribed rituals of walking the pattern around the sacred place, taking the walkway leading to the site, and being of like mind to validate beliefs, hoping to make a difference in their lives. We may not sleep on the grooved stone to dream of our healing, or rub the standing stone for a blessing, but possibly a strip of cloth can still be tied to a tree to drive the illness from the land, as well as a coin dropped into the pool as an offering to the powers that be to bring peace and happiness back to us all. We leave our mark in one way or another. Let’s hope those seeking the highest good of all concerned will triumph, and the dark will be balanced by the light.
