Spring Storms

Spring Storms

Spring Storms, wild, unpredictable, surprising

Spring Storms this year are wilder than ever. Usually, March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, but this year, April is playing that role. Plus, cold winds & cool temps keep Spring away.

First, April 1st saw the top 1/3 of our neighbors 100′ tall white pine, crack and fall towards their house. Then a week later, another third of that same tree, cracked and fell towards our house, down the hill. Again, no damage other than the poor tree. It missed our driveway by inches. They were soft, huge, gentle falls of a seemingly healthy, green tree.

Next, just when I thought spring had returned with birds building nests, buds on trees & bushes, and just a hint of yellow forsythia, an overnight snow storm hit! Inches of white covered everything. The silence was total. Wildlife disappeared.

Then, the ground moved. A low loud roar rumbled beneath my feet for what seemed like quite awhile. My first thought was, ‘Tell me I’m in an earthquake and I’ll believe you!’

So, a new fault was discovered in New Jersey, emitting a 4.8 earthquake felt in many states along the east coast. The East coast doesn’t know fault lines like the West coast. Moreover, the Earth is releasing old energy, just as we all must do, to make room for the coming New Magic.

Therefore, this wild sky painting appeared. Some ravens fly far off in the distant horizon, as low hanging clouds break to reveal the crescent New Moon of the coming Solar Eclipse.

In addition, I painted over an old painting of the Everglades, deep green, hanging moss, and darkness. Interesting colors showed thru at the bottom, and in the sky. Also, repurposing an older painting adds texture and interest. I let inspiration flow. It’s all play.

Spring Storms remind us to focus on our inner life.

I am in awe of the power of Nature. She takes care of herself, clears away the old, and makes way for the new. So now I immerse in the Magic the Solar Eclipse!

Actually, this is my 4th! The first was seen through a pinhole camera at school. The next two were more spectacular with my revered Solar Glasses. From our yard lounge chairs outside Chicago, we were transformed to a Magic place. Hundreds of crescent Suns beamed through leafy trees, on the ground all around us. Everything became silent at Totality. What Magic!

Today, once the clouds cleared over our Connecticut deck, the Grandest Show of all came our way. A warm, quiet day in the forest, blessed us with 90% Totality, as the Dark Moon gently covered the face of the Sun. Through our glasses, the Sun appeared exactly as the thin crescent of light in my painting: a bright boat, suspended in a dark sky. Awesome, amazing, and I am here. My heart is full!.

Therefore, in these exciting, changing times, I encourage everyone to Be in flow, comfort, and light. Seek the Magic of the Universe every chance you get. Consciously become the observer in the Miracles of Life. Life is just a dream to be experienced, acknowledged, and embraced in all its splendor. Be grateful, loving, and the Creator of your life every day. It’s all Magic!
