Shift In the Air: Ghost Owl, changing time, transition, spirit, passion, art of nature

A Shift in the Air came overnight. As the days get shorter, the owls come out sooner. Other creatures, like deer, ravens, and hawks float silently through the changing forest like ghosts, reappearing and just as quickly, disappearing! No wonder this feels like such a magical time. Plus, the sky turns pink for awhile, then moves on into shades of slate and blue. Don’t blink, or you may miss the transformation shimmering right before your eyes.

Life is on the move. The forest knows it’s cycles of change as trees gather moisture in their roots and their leaves shift to tones of lemon yellow, red, and orange. Night sky stars are brighter, and the Crescent Moon shimmers.

For me, it’s a time to gather my energy. It’s like stocking up on acorns for the coming season. The firepit calls to me and symbols of alchemy, magic, and rituals appear in my dreams. It’s a shift in me. I want to get back into Nature, explore my town with fresh eyes, and create mystical art.

I really like just scribbling and painting on canvas. In addition, different colors call to me, and I give the russets and yellows a try. Then I find myself rubbing it all out, spraying water over all, and letting the remaining shapes guide my intuitive self.

This happened with the ‘Shift in the Air’ painting. White Owl appeared, disappeared, and then came back as Ghost Owl! Also, the entire bottom half changed direction. It became filled with movement and energy, a flowing river through the magic forest.

A Shift in the Air calls for courage to trust and pursue.

We all make choices every day. But we can’t be afraid of rubbing it all out, washing it away, and building upon what’s left behind. When we trust ourselves deeply, we may discover something wonderful appearing right before our very eyes. Moreover, it will have a different energy than thinking mind can create. The subconscious flows from some Other Worldly place, and will surprise you when you dare to enter.

So how does this Shift in the Air feel to you? What are you called to do, create, and experience by your inner voice? It often whispers, just to get your attention, so you really have to give it quiet time, patience, and focus. It can change everything.
