Honoring Paris

Late Summer Bouquet
                                              Late Summer Bouquet

Remembering the beauty, strength, and endurance of my beloved Paris.

The blues and yellows recall a timelessness, delicate strength, and enduring beauty of the ancient city of Paris. We were there as in a dream, walking the streets, loving the art, experiencing the people just last year. It’s as though we wanted to memorize every bit of unique architecture, cobblestone streets, and incredible history that took place exactly where we were standing. An engraving, a photo, a sketch can only be a ghost of the reality. The experience of being there is everything.

That’s what I tried to capture in this painting. Paris is so vast, so nuanced, so memorable, that it can’t be done justice in just one visit. The trip is planned. We will return next year. All the love of the city can not be extinguished by the deeply wrenching violence of a few. Our heart’s go out to the people, the city, the land. An Art Practice is like a Flowing River

In Memory of Pat Gullett, April 29, 2024

It is with great sorrow and difficulty that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Pat on Monday, April 29, 2024. She was at home and passed peacefully while asleep. Words cannot describe how much we will miss her love of life, love of her family, creativity, kindness and the spiritual impact she made…
