Our Wandering Minds

Our Wandering Minds

Coyote Places the Stars

Our wandering minds are constantly seeking stimulation in spite of the to-do lists, deadlines, and goals we give it. We are like magnates, roaming through the sea of humanity, picking up other wandering minds around us. Like a mood conductor, we constantly evaluate and determine others feelings and emotions. There seems to be some impulse to connect us automatically with the energy of those we encounter, or past obsessions that hold a trigger for us. It’s as though we are thinking their thoughts and finding ways they should be living. But these aren’t ours to analyze. It’s not our place to fix them. So, let’s take a step back and zero in on our own native wildness and see if we can focus our Attention to become a force for good.

When my wandering mind obsesses, I’m getting better at turning it around, and setting an intention instead. Intentions ground me immediately in the present. What positive do I want to feel, be, experience at this moment in time! My life holds power when I direct my thinking for the good of all.

Positive intentions create entrainment, connections between ourselves and others. That’s the only power any of us has, for the good of all concerned. Good thoughts and loving acts, hold a combined power when it’s intended for ‘we’. We can never truly know specifically what is best for another, but we can uplift everyone in a situation. It’s not power over, it is power compounded. We become co-creators, wishing them love and peace. Just radiate light and goodness for all involved.

These thoughts were in my mind at the last Full Moon. Then, a pack of coyotes appeared right in front of the house. Howling and running with the full moon lighting the way overhead, I’ve read that mated coyotes do this when teaching their young pups how to hunt in the Spring. They entrain each others thoughts for the good of the pack.

Our wandering minds need coyote focus. Attention to Intention!

Coyote has a laser focus in all she does. She reminds us to keep our wandering mind on task, directing full attention to our intention, to create Magic in all we do. Here’s where the power lies.

Next, I remembered a site in Utah with coyote rock art. It’s called Coyote Places the Stars, and is an ancient legend from the tribes. She loved the stars and could see the two bears high up in the sky. So, she decided to move other stars with her bow and arrow, to create pictures to remember, thus creating the constellations. Beautiful!

Therefore, Coyote Places the Stars, my painting was born. She has become my Spirit Guide this Spring to enrich my knowing, confidence, and focus. As I wander, I return to her and my intention, which gives me direction, flow, and inspiration.

Now is your moment of Power. Allow Coyote to lead the way. Create a laser focused intention for what you really want to feel, do, and be at this moment in time. The Truth is that You Thrive, only when you move beyond emotions, past obsessions, and saving someone else, and into intending for the good of all. Listen to what you really need from your inner intuition. Live from what feels good for You all through the day. Send out that vibration to others to be uplifted and find their personal path. This will be life changing in every way.

I made a Sky Coyote long ago that told the story of coyote and the Sun, racing in the heavens to the North Star. It was an ancient Chumash story saying that if benevolent sky coyote wins, the Earth will be in balance and Spring will follow winter.

How does it feel to have coyote as your Guide? On another note, here’s a nice Passageway painting done with oil paint sticks! Enjoy!
