Secret Garden II, the secret spiritual place within each of us

Secret Garden II is that quiet sanctuary within each of us where we can escape, do anything, and create a life for ourselves. This safe haven is our own personal space to dream, evolve, and find meaning.

My Secret Garden came about with a Celestial Event happening. The crescent Moon in Earthshine, aligned with super bright Venus and Mars. But the amazing thing was the next night, Venus appeared behind the Moon, as though it had connected and moved on shooting through the Universe. So I painted them both! And the colors were brilliant. The Moon so golden, it seemed to shine its color on Venus, shimmering bright, like a golden diamond in the night sky.

I viewed this from our deck, now covered in a rainbow of colored, potted flowers. I am surrounded by beauty as well as exotic scents. An article came to mind about the great Joseph Stella, an urban artist from the 1930’s, who found his happy place in painting Nature.

“My devout wish is that my every working day might begin and end – as a good omen- with the light, gay painting of a flower.” Joseph Stella

Inspired by his symmetrical, futuristic, botanical art, I painted our flowers in a similar way. This is like a communion of spirit. The Earth, the Sky, and the Artist, interpreting a moment in time that deeply touched my soul. He said he wanted to ‘learn the secret of the vibration of their colors’. So, I held onto that feeling as my flowers came to life.

Secret Garden II opens to new potentials of purpose and meaning.

This is why artists create, and monks chant! The doing gives meaning for me and puts me in the ‘zone’ away from thinking, time, and the world out there. Art is like a Sacred Bridge to Other Worlds of beauty, growth, and evolving in a personal way.

I feel connected to the Magic of the Cosmos, a return to Source, a communion with ancestors who mapped the skies and relished the natural beauty of the Earth. As above, so below, can be a way of life if we are mindful of our surroundings.

Plus, here we are on our decks and patios, safely at the edge of the wilderness, as close as we can come to the real Earth. We can camp out, take our trailers on the road, landscape, explore caves and paint the beauty as best we can, but man has always had to find his place. Where do we belong without getting bowled over by the primitive land, ocean, and swamp?

We are delicate creatures, observing as best we can, the land of bugs, ticks, trees, plants, flowers, snakes, bees, bears, and bobcats. We live in their world and hopefully full of respect for the great bounty that keeps us alive.

Therefore, let’s honor the Sacred Connection of heaven, earth, and us. Really savor the powerful memories of today. Remember the good ones that bring a smile. Consciously make more of them to be happy for a lifetime.
