Art Transforms our Thinking, Seeing, Living
Art Transforms my life in so many ways. It is my refuge away away from the world. Moreover, my studio is my sanctuary, my womb of creativity. Whether I’m painting, noting ideas, or writing my new class or blog, it’s all about living a creative life. This direction gives me clarity, focus, and direction in all I do.
Similarly, Art Transforms my career. When I was in survival mode, my art teaching background always opened doors. There was a rif time, reduction in force, rippling through the education world. As Art Teachers were let go to make room for required math & English instructors, I moved from school to school. I never was without a new ‘job’. Teaching allowed me to create my space, set the tone, and be the leader of an Artistic Path worth pursuing.
Most of all, Art Transforms my evolving style as I seek my authentic true voice. At first, this focus came after teaching, when I sold my work at art fairs around Chicago. I’d ask myself, ‘where am I at this moment in time?’ I journeyed and power animals came to me as guides on the path. Plus my mixed media style developed with every wisdom wolf, brave rabbit, healing bear, and dawning jaguar.
Consequently my people found me. Furthermore, it was great fun to connect with my community year after year. My style could be seen in every painting. Above all, I really loved my life and my work.
Art Transforms even now, as I learn to create an engaged, online group of Artistic Mystics. It’s time to let my people find me again.
