Mirror of Four, getting to the essence of Life
Mirror of Four, getting to the essence of Life

Symbols are subtle, ancient, and strike us at our core.

The Moon, circle, spiral, square, the 4 directions, the 5 pointed star, since primitive times, symbols bridge the gap between reality and its essence. They hit us where our elemental, primitive Self resides. They are the language of Spirit, filled with meaning, and transcending Time. Going far beyond the individual, they hold a Universal appeal, speaking an ancient Truth. Often secret, sacred, and embedded deeply all around us, they travel deeper than words as they guard an inner meaning.

I once had a Big Dream about symbols. I was in a Void, like the middle of the Milky Way, walking towards a glowing, colorful circle of symbols. I was able to enter the circle, and proceeded to sit on each lighted, vibrating form. It’s as though each element had its own resonance, its own color, song, and texture, with it’s unique information to impart to me. They were beyond time and space, existing actually before Time began. They held a power all their own.

The above painting, Mirror of Four, embodies the Earth square, four corners, four seasons, the orderliness of the world. More self reflecting squares create the cross of Time & Space, upon which our Spirits must navigate life. Floating over all is the ethereal blue green agave, the hearty ancient plant of Central America, with it spiraling leaves, used in everything from ritual drinks, food,  & sugar, to shoes, soap, building supplies, rope, and medicine. The Mother’s Milk of Ancient America, she holds the circle of spirit embedded deeply within its succulent leaves. The Square is totally dependent in its construction upon the circle. Earth exists because of Spirit. The circle within the square, the basis of all life, the Sacred Geometry of the Earth.
